Momma Joy

Little Riv, when I was pregnant with you, you would be moving all the time!  You would get the hiccups every night after dinner and we’d both jump with each one.  When I’d take a bath, you’d “swim” so much in my belly that the tub would be full of waves.  It’s funny, because you are such a mellow kid — you still like to swim just as much, though!

When you’re pregnant, people smile and meet your eyes in a way they never do otherwise.  You can always tell when someone is a happy Dad; there is a wistful kindness in his eyes, full of memories of a special time.
